About Our First Aid Programs

MNP Community & Sport Centre provides comprehensive training of all aspects of first aid and CPR. As well, individuals pursuing their Lifesaving courses can take the pre-requisite first aid course at the Centre.

 

Standard First Aid

Standard First Aid provides comprehensive training of all aspects of first aid and CPR. This course is for those who want an in-depth understanding of first aid such as: medical/legal aspects, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, abdominal and chest injuries, burns, and medical emergencies. Includes CPR-C and AED certification. Lifesaving Standard First Aid is a Government of Alberta OH&S workplace approved training program..

Standard First Aid Instructor

The Lifesaving First Aid Instructors teach and evaluate first aid knowledge and skills. Lifesaving First Aid Instructors deliver CPR and AED, Lifesaving Emergency First Aid and Lifeguard Standard First Aid. In addition a Lifesaving First Aid Instructor may deliver: Aquatic Emergency Care, CPR-HCP and Oxygen Administration; if they hold the candidate level.

Prerequisites: 16-hour Course: Approved Application, Lifesaving Instructor and current Alberta Workplace Approval Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care.
