Non-essential water use starting August 26

WATER RESTRICTIONS UPDATE SEPT 6:
We thank our Members and guests for their efforts in helping us to reduce the Centre’s water use during the current water restrictions. However, the City of Calgary has asked all recreation facilities to close their steam rooms, hot tubs and cold tubs. In continuing to do our part to conserve water, our steam room, hot tub and cold tub are closed effective immediately until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation.

In response to the City of Calgary’s request to limit non-essential water use, MNP Community & Sport Centre will be implementing water conservation efforts throughout the facility, by the suggested 25%, or more, starting August 26, 2024.

Our swimming pools will remain open. We anticipate we can reduce water use without significant impact to our amenities, including swimming lessons, day camps, gym and fitness centre usage and facility rentals.

 

What is MNPCSC doing to help?

• Closing 50% of locker room showers
• Closing dive tank showers
• Reducing Bee Clean overnight water usage
• Reducing laundry
• Reviewing our operations and scheduled facility maintenance
• Updated September 6: Steam Room, Hot Tub and Cold Tub are closed until further notice

 

What can Members and guests do to help?

• Please limit showers to 3 minutes or less.
• Laundry will be reduced, therefore less towels will be available to clean equipment. Please be mindful to share towels or feel free to bring your own.
• Executive Locker Room Towels will not be available, please bring your own during this time.

 

It is possible that some high-water-use amenities like our steam room, hot tub and cold tub may be restricted at a later date if we don’t all do our part. We will provide details when relevant.
