NEW Calgary Parking System
This change helps better manage the parking needs of our community while we continue to grow.
Starting February 24, 2026, the new Calgary Parking system will be in place at MNP Community & Sport Centre. This update helps us better manage parking as demand for health and recreation services continues to grow, while maintaining free parking options for our community. Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible for everyone.

Why are you introducing the new parking system?
To manage increased demand and ensure fair access as our facility and downtown grow busier.
Is the goal of the system to increase revenue?
No. Most visits remain free. Fees apply only if guests exceed the free period.
What if someone gets a ticket?
Direct all ticket disputes to Calgary Parking. Guest Services cannot waive fees.
Will there be signage to help guests?
Yes, clear signage will provide instructions on lot number and remind guests to pay before leaving the lot. The Guest Services Team will also be happy to assist.
How can I pay for parking?
On-site Pay Machines – Use these upon arrival if you expect to exceed your free parking time.
Virtual Pay Machine (vpm.parkplus.ca) – Available only after your free parking period has expired.
ParkPlus App – Can also be used once your free parking time has ended by using the start/stop method.
Please note: the free parking period is not built into the Virtual Pay Machine or app.
See how-to guides HERE.
How do you capture when we enter and exit the lot?
Cameras at the parking lot entrance automatically capture a photo of your licence plate as you enter and exit the parking lot. The system uses this licence plate recognition technology to calculate the length of your stay and determine whether payment is required.
