Why do you coach at MNP Community & Sport Centre?
At MNPCSC I have the opportunity to work with several different teams and learn even more about their sports. I also have the opportunity to really learn from my athletes and figure out what kind of training works for them and how I can adjust my coaching style to help them. It’s always a learning experience coaching here and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What is your favourite part of Sport?
The atmosphere. Being involved as a spectator, and even a coach now, is amazing. The energy from the fans and athletes is one of the many reasons I love sport. No matter what mood I’m in it’s great to be involved at a life competition or game.
What is on your bucket list of challenges/races and why?
One challenge for myself is to be able to perfectly execute a Dragon Squat.
What super human power would you have and why?
Super speed – being able to get anywhere in seconds would be great.
How do you create the best coaching experiences for your athletes?
I try to make the training session fun. Not everyone is a fan of strength training and conditioning. I try to build a fun environment that my athletes can look forward to. Whether they like the atmosphere, start to enjoy the exercises or look forward to what we have planned, I want to make sure the time we spend training is enjoyable.
