3433 Vernon Cycling Camp

Come and ride some of the most scenic roads in the Okanagan Valley. Camp participants will be treated to many of the North Okanagan’s finest training routes on roads with little traffic, flat to rolling terrain, big climbs, and a fully supported schedule of training.
Whether you are an experienced cyclist, racing Ironman or challenging your local Gran Fondo, this camp is right for you!
We have scheduled the rides to be varied for specific training, coached sessions, as well as for recovery. Athletes looking to get in some solid cycling volume in preparation for the upcoming racing season, this is a great camp to build your fitness.

Tentative Schedule
Saturday May 6th
Group Meeting check-in
Sunday May 7th: Camp Start
AM: 2-2.5 hours - easy cycling in and around Vernon to get everyone loosened up and ready for the week ahead
PM: 1.5 hours - blow the legs and lungs out with a technical and hill interval session on the old Silver Star Road switchbacks
Monday May 8th
AM: Vernon to Mabel Lake via Enderby. Solid long endurance ride for aerobic conditioning. Full vehicle support will be offered. (6 hours)
PM: Group Dinner
Tuesday May 9th
Vernon to Carrs Landing via Predator Ridge. If you like climbing, this is your day! Carrs Landing is a hidden gem in the North Okanagan that overlooks Okanagan Lake on the north side of the lake. Full vehicle support will be offered. (5.5 hours)
Wednesday May 10th
AM: North Okanagan long ride – An Epic route! Take in the beauty of the North Okanagan back roads to Salmon Arm and see a different side of the Okanagan Valley. Feel like riding in Europe and experience the infamous wall in Salmon Arm. This is a solid aerobic endurance ride with full vehicle support. (6 hours)
Thursday May 11th
AM: Vernon to Lumby and beyond. Another solid aerobic ride to the east of Vernon with some short gravel riding to challenge your handling skills. Full vehicle support will be offered. (6 hours)
Friday May 12th (Pending road closures & road conditions)
Travel to Penticton – Ride in the amazing South Okanagan region! We start in Penticton but where we go, we don’t even know! Ride route will be determined based upon camp participant feedback and energy levels. This will be a fully supported ride with vehicle support. This will cap off a great week of riding.
PM: Pub Night in Vernon or Penticton.
All ride routes are subject to change due to participant fatigue, weather, road conditions, construction etc.
